Write compelling stories drawn from real life
This course explores the powerful world of creative nonfiction, including memoir, biography, travel writing, and more.
Over six weeks you'll practice writing stories drawn from real life while gaining inspiration, tuition, and creative tips from a professional writer.
Along with readings and discussion, you'll also have the chance to workshop your writing in a supportive atmosphere and receive individual feedback on all your pieces.
Make headway on several stories, and gain the techniques and confidence to keep writing.
6 workshops | 15 hours total | Fee: $500
Tuesday evenings at the Erina Centre & live online.

Keep writing and stay social!
This 12-week writing group program provides regular fortnightly meetings to encourage a productive writing practice, along with in-class writing exercises, professional feedback on your work, and guided group discussion.
Stay on track with your project while sharing the creative journey with other dedicated writers.
Thursday mornings and evenings, starting 27th March.
Memoir/Fiction
Masterclass
For writers working on bigger projects, these intensive workshops break down obstacles and help develop your work to the next stage. With a focus on structure and voice, this course sets writing deadlines, delivers individual feedback and offers valuable strategies to set you on the path to completion.
Wednesday evening, fortnightly, 6pm-9pm.
May-July or September-October 2025 in person and online at Avoca Beach.

Writing Short Stories
4-week course in person & live online
Learn The Art Of The Short Story
Do you have a true story you’d like to set down? An event, a discovery, or a moment in time?
In this 4-week course you'll explore how writers play with language, imagery and scenes to create compelling short stories that are alive with meaning and resonance.
Discover what it is you want to say. Learn how to weave together facts, feelings and reflections to develop your own 2,000 word story that will speak to others.
4 workshops | 12 hours total, plus editing of 2,000 words | Fee: $500
Saturday mornings starting 17th May 2025 at Erina and live online.

A rich immersion in literary craft and genre, you will develop new writing while building valuable relationships with other writers. These programs give you the framework to deepen your understanding of writing techniques, practice different approaches and discover your style. Class sizes are small to ensure everyone has a chance to share, be heard and receive feedback on their work.
