In Jane’s workshops:
Primarily using collage, we will examine and interpret moments from individual stories to create images that complement the reader experience.
We’ll explore a range of collage techniques, including traditional paper collage, fabric, and relief as well as how best to photograph finished work.
We’ll look into the work of other collage artists and see how they create form and meaning through this medium.
Previous drawing and art-making experience is not necessary — this art form is a perfect introduction to tap into your visual creativity, regardless of how dormant or non-existent you think it is!
Jane’s experience as an artist educator is wide and varied, having worked with young and old alike in settings such as the Art Gallery NSW, National Art School, NSW Dept. of Education, Australian Museum, NGO’s, Universities, hospitals, local councils, private colleges and schools. She has worked with people with different abilities, at risk, mental health issues, homelessness and drug and alcohol issues. Jane currently runs weekly art sessions in her home studio for school aged children, as well as occasional free community art sessions. Her workshops focus on exploring visual language through experimentation, play and the use of a variety of techniques and materials to create meaningful artwork.
